We do NOT restrict services to income level, demographic, employment, etc.

Referring Agencies or Advocates: No appointment or paperwork necessary!  If coming with a mom or dad for their first visit, please see '1st Time/Initial Visit' below.  Agencies or advocates are welcome to come in with parents and/or refer parents to come in on their own.

First Visit/Initial Intake

Drop in on the 1st, 4th, or 5th week of the month, during business hours.  Please set aside 30 minutes in case there is a wait and to give time to connect.  Visits take an average of 15-30 minutes, and should not exceed 45 minutes. If you are only in need of supplies, you may attend a Client Care Day for your initial visit, if you prefer.

Come see us 4 weeks after your last menstreul cycle (pregnancy tests will not show positive until 4 weeks after your last missed period).  Give us a call or come in during business hours to receive a pregnancy test. Valid ID is Required to Receive Proof of Pregnancy paperwork, as MCEC is a State-Certified Provider. Please AVOID the second Saturday and the Wednesday that follows each month, as we do not provide Pregnancy Tests on our Client Care Days.Prenatal Vitamins are also important in helping keep mom and baby healthy during pregnancy. Please consult your Healthcare Provider before taking any new vitamin, especially if taking additional supplements or medication.

Baby Items

If you haven't been to Mother & Child and do not plan to attend a class, we encourage you to come in for an initial intake during business hours so we can connect.  Please allow 30 minutes so we can get basic info and hear how we can support you.  Once you have completed your first trimester, we welcome you to begin shopping at no-cost for baby supplies at Client Care Day.  Parents may attend one Client Care Day each month.  Supplementary supplies for a child typically consist of a Bundle of 8 Diapers, a Bundle of 2 Outfits (plus 1 pajama if available), and a small baggie of wipes.  When shopping at Client Care Day a parent may also choose accessories such as bibs, blankets, burb cloths, hats, shoes, and socks.  All supplies are donated to Mother & Child in size Preemie to 5T clothing/accessories and Preemie to Size 6 Diapers (some pull-ups); and are gently loved. Mother & Child works hard to make sure items are available to all in need, in your child’s current size, but cannot be guaranteed.  Read More about Client Care Day and How to Register.
