Extra Helpful Steps:

These steps help in MCEC's donation processing, saving volunteers and staff time, but are not required to donate.
Clothing is sorted into bins by Gender & Size at MCEC, so taking the time to Sort and Put Clothing into bags by Gender and the Following Sizes is extremely helpful: Preemie, NB, 0-3 & 3Mo, 3-6 & 6Mo, 6-9 & 9Mo, 9-12 & 12Mo, 12-24 & 24Mo, 2T, 3T, 4T, and 5T (each with separate boy and girl bin).  We also have a bin of Gender Neutral clothing in size Newborn, 0-3Mo, & 3 Mo.

• Sort and Place Onesies into Bags by Size: NB-3Mo & 3Mo; 3-6Mo & 6Mo; 6Mo+
• Tape the size of children's shoes on 1 of their 2 soles. Keep pairs together by tying laces or looping Velcro. If no laces/Velcro, rubber band, string, or zip tie shoes together.
• MCEC stores nursing items, maternity items, children's shoes, early infancy clothing & accessories, and children's books & developmental items in separate areas. Bagging items into these separate categories saves volunteers from pre-sorting!
