Willamette Week Give Guide: November-December 2019

Gift yourself or gift it up to a friend or family. Check off that Christmas wishlist with gifts that give back; with proceeds supporting parents during their pregnancy and children's early infancy years through Mother & Child. Also, for the first time ever, Mother & Child will be included in the Willamette Week Give!Guide.

MOTHER & CHILD IN 2019 GIVE!GUIDE

During the end of the year, Mother & Child Education Center reaches out to current and potential supporters to raise money to support our daily programs, classes and client care days. In 2019, we have been selected for inclusion in the Willamette Week Give!Guide program - an amazing chance for us to share about our program with thousands of potential donors in Portland. We are reaching out to clients, volunteers, donors and community partners to give everyone the opportunity to support Mother & Child financially.

We are blessed with lots of donated supplies that we are able to share with clients, but it still takes cash to pay the few staff we have, utilities, and supplies we can't get donated.

No gift is too great, or too small.

There are printed and digital versions of the Give!Guide and we have included a link to the digital version in this e-blast. Mother & Child is listed under Human Services on page 138.

Please join us in supporting our mission to create connections in a judgement-free space to provide support, education and resources for anyone who is parenting including expectant women, fathers and those facing challenges, such as lack of housing, poverty, substance abuse or other trauma.

As you are probably aware, every month we connect with an average of 200 parents on a one-to-one basis.

All funds raised support our on-going programs and families in need. If you prefer to donate through another method, such as by check, please mail it to MCEC, 1515 NE 41st, Portland, OR 97232 or come by and visit us.

All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Special thanks to our business sponsors, Hot Lips Pizza-Hollywood which will provide free slice coupons to

the first 25 donors of $25 and more and BWild Kombucha which will give two bottles of kombucha to the first 50 donors 35 and under. All donors will go in a raffle for wonderful prizes.

Finally, each Thursday, Willamette Week will host BIG GIVE DAYS - when you donate on a BIG GIVE DAY you also get put in a raffle. More info is available about that online at   https://giveguide.org/#mother-child-education-center/

Holiday Cheer Transformed - November 21, 2019, 5:30-8pm

Thanks to all who joined us in 2018 for our Holiday Cheer event! This year, we are joining forces to co-host an event on site with Baby Blues Connection, Northwest Mothers Milk Bank, and Period. Called "Empowering Good: A Give!Guide Gathering For Change Makers," the event will feature representatives from each of our programs sharing stories of the work we do, the people we serve; and the needs we have. Join us for great food, cheer and music. No cost to participate, but it is being held on one of the "BIG GIVE" days for the Give!Guide. Don't worry if it rains, guests will be in our center and also in a heated and well-lit tent in the back parking lot. RSVP at 503-249-5801, or https://www.facebook.com/events/2122371931404302/.

Join us in Spring 2020 for a silent auction in support of making our families dreams come true. Donations needed for auction items and raffle baskets.
