Volunteer Opportunities

Groups and Individuals Welcome!

Help parents get basic necessities for their children 0-5 years (diapers, wipes, clothing, etc) at Mother & Child’s Client Care Days - days families shop at no cost for supplies - by signing-up at momchildpdxvolunteer.eventbrite.com.  Client Care Days occur each second Saturday of the month, and the Wednesday that follows.  Volunteers may check-in parents, assist with shopping, fill bags, watch children, help with maternity clothing, or serve food.  For a general idea of what this day looks like, watch our training video onlineIf you haven’t volunteered with MomChildPDX before and are interested in getting involved in any capacity, we highly suggest volunteering at Client Care Day first to meet our staff, see our space, and get a better idea of who we are & who we serve.

Help sort donations and bundle together baby outfits, supplementary wipes, & diapers by downloading our general volunteer application. We also need help in our small exterior with gardening and exterior clean up.

If you are in High School needing Service Hours we welcome you to sign-up for our Client Care Days or Apply to Help Behind-the-Scenes with donations.

Sign-Up to Coordinate or offer Day-of-Assistance with Special Events at momchildpdx.volunteer.eventbrite.com. Mother & Child hosts numerous events throughout the year – both for fundraising and family support - and would love your help! Examples include: Client Care Days, Happy Hour + Online Silent Auction, RunMamaRun 5k/10k, Pop-Up Dinner, Giving Tuesday, Holiday Cheer & Cheese (see our events tab for details on events). If you are a business owner, have a craft, timeshare, or other item to donate, we are always looking for sponsorships/donations! Mother & Child works to create a sponsorship that best promotes you, while supporting parents and children in our community.

Be a Community Connector

Coordinate a “Campaign for Change” for your faith community, community group, class, or business by distributing sippy cups to individuals to take home to fill with donations. Groups typically fill bottles with donations for 3-weeks, while an event or business “host” a larger bottle at the reception/checkout/desk. Group leads return bottles to MCEC at an agreed upon time.
